As a present for Jason’s graduation from seminary, my parents took us to Disneyland yesterday! (They said that it was a family present, since Hannah and I made it through Jason’s time in seminary too!)
We had a great day wandering around Disneyland and California Adventure. Hannah seemed to enjoy her first trip to the Magic Kingdom, and behaved like, what else?! An absolute princess! After weeks of pointing at the Merry-Go-Round in the mall, she finally got to ride King Arthur’s Carousel – with daddy holding on tightly, of course! She loved all of the animals on the Jungle Book, danced to the music on It’s A Small World and Winnie the Pooh, and “helped†mommy shoot Zurg on the Buzz Lightyear ride (maybe that explains my super high score!). She woke up from her nap just in time for the 50th Anniversary Parade, and loved Tinkerbell and Ursula (from the Little Mermaid). We got to pet a goat and a cow at the Big Thunder Ranch petting zoo. She even got to see the “real live†Tigger, Cinderella and Prince Charming (who waved at her!). But, I think her favorite was the statue of “Don-Duck†(translation: Donald Duck). We spent a long time at Ariel’s Grotto watching the ducks swim, and Hannah just went crazy when they started quacking! She squealed, and clapped, and quacked back!
This definitely ranks as one of my favorite Disneyland trips! It was a long day – we spent almost 12 full hours wandering around!! Of course we had one tired little girl at the end of the day! We barely made it to the freeway before she, and daddy, were sound asleep!
