And, let’s just get this out of the way very early on – no, I am not pregnant.
We are moving!
Okay, before you start rolling your eyes and remind me that we have practically made moving a hobby (5 times in the past 7 years!?!), this one is different…Really!  This time, we are not just moving across town. We are moving to…
Arizona!
Last Thursday, Jason was offered, and has accepted, a call to be the new associate pastor at Way of Grace Church in Buckeye, Arizona (southwest of Phoenix)! This is a wonderful, new church, and we are so excited about becoming a part of this body of believers!
There are still several details that have yet to be worked out, but, right now, we are looking at moving sometime around the end of December. This will allow us to finish out several activities and ministry commitments (not all the way to the end, but at least to a relatively natural break at Christmas and New Year’s). Hopefully, it will also allow us time to get our house sold (it has been on the market for a year!). We currently have an offer on it. It is not the first one we have received, so we are trying not to get our hopes up. But, we are praying that it would be the last! Either way, over the past year, we have learned that our timing is not always the same as God’s timing, and He will do what is necessary at the right time. Along those same lines, we also need to find a new home in Arizona…hopefully, one that will allow us to accommodate out-of-town guests (hint, hint!). And of course, there are the day-to-day issues of continuing on with life while packing up the entire house and saying good-bye to our dear family and friends here in southern California.
We would definitely appreciate your prayers over the next few weeks as we prepare for this big move. It will be good, I am sure of that, but I also know that it will not be easy. Jason has lived here for the past 11 years, and I have been here my entire life. So, a new town – a new state – will be a big adjustment! We are sad for what (who!) we will be leaving behind, but we are also very, very excited for what the Lord has in store for us in the future!
