A Status Report {November}

Following Lisa’s lead today…starting this month with a status report…

Sitting…at my (very messy) desk.

Drinking…a cup of (decaf) coffee…with peppermint mocha creamer. Yum. Yes, it is that time of year.

Wearing…my favorite, comfy, gray maternity skirt from Old Navy, and a burgundy top…and slippers.

Enjoying…a quiet afternoon of lesson planning and grading…surrounded by school books…with a cool fall breeze floating through the open windows.  And seeing my daughter finally get excited about reading…for fun. (A first for her, and a joy for this book-loving mama!)

Attempting…to reorganize our lesson plans after a few very “off” weeks around here.

Considering…how much life has changed in only one short year…and how many (wonderful!) changes are still to come!  And how I can see God’s sovereign hand of undeserved care, blessing, and grace in and through it all!

Wondering…how it got to be November already. This year is flying by all too fast!!

Trying…to slow down, to ask for help, and to remember that I am not Wonder Woman…nor do I need to be.

Cooking…up a batch of Crock Pot Granola…and probably some Rice Krispy Treats later…

Reading…very little right now. I am greatly enjoying J.C. Ryle’s commentary on Matthew…and Dan Phillips’ commentary on Proverbs (when I can get it away from my husband!). I am almost finished with Rick Holland’s Uneclipsing the Son.  And, I just finished True Christian Motherhood, by June Fuentes. (Reviews – and giveaways – for both, coming soon!)

Thinking…about all that I need to do in the next 3 months, in preparation for our little boy’s arrival…and with each passing day, getting more and more excited to meet this little guy!

Finishing…this post so I can go start another load of laundry…and fold the ones already piled on my bed!!

    Sounds like we’re all doing laundry today! 🙂

  2. Isn’t it amazing how much things change in a year!

    Found out we’re having a girl this morning… now for that last 4 (for me) months of getting things ready! 🙂

    You’ll be fine too… just do a little at a time!

  3. I love your status report! I am also printing out your granola recipe; I can’t believe I didn’t the first time you posted it. Your brown sugar bars were a hit, by the way! 🙂
