It is an odd little community, this online world that I visit each day. Blogging and social networking sites have both enlarged my experience of the universal Church, while at the same time making a big world much smaller. I have made a dear friends…met many kindred spirits…encouraged one another in the struggles of mommyhood…prayed for unsaved friends and family members…and discussed practical theology…
All with women I have never met “in real life.”  If it were not for the words and pictures that fill my computer screen each day, I would know nothing of their day-to-day lives.

And, yesterday, that small window was filled with one description after another of unimaginable grief, pain, loss and suffering.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.”
~Psalm 34:18

Would you please join me in praying for these ladies, and their families?
.
Penny Franklin – who lost her husband just after Christmas
Tricia – who lost her husband just before Christmas
Joanne Heim – suffered a stroke yesterday morning, and, as of this writing, has already undergone 2 surgeries to prevent/correct further damage.
Steph – who lost her home (and family dog) in a fire yesterday morning…Praise the Lord that her family is safe!

I love the Lord, because he has heard
my voice and my pleas for mercy.
Because he inclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
The snares of death encompassed me;
the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
I suffered distress and anguish.
Then I called on the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”
~Psalm 116:1-4
I am so thankful for this community of friends and sisters who I’ve never met but know just the same!
Me too, Lisa!! 🙂
