The drastic change between the events of Sunday morning, Sunday evening, and Monday night amazes me!. And, just as quickly as the fires came, they have gone – leaving behind a charred hillside, and the occasional rumble of helicopters overhead, as reminders of the weekend’s events.Â
Jason came home for lunch this afternoon, and we were commenting on how quickly everything has gotten back to normal after the excitement of the last few days. We are back in our home.  Jason is back at work, after an unplanned 4-day weekend. And, Hannah is back to her normal daily schedule…and potty habits. (She actually did really well while we were with my parents…She had one accident, but in our rush to get out, I forgot to grab extra big-girl-undies, so we had to resort to the “just-in-case†Pull-ups stashed in the car and in her diaper bag.  But, no ill-effects, and she is back on track now.)
I seem to be having a harder time getting back into the swing of things, as I am still fighting a cold, and I am sure it is not being helped by all of the “stuff†floating around in the air right now. The air quality is pretty poor, so we will be staying inside for a day or two. Hannah is just dying to go play at the park, or at the very least, in the yard. But, I think being confined to the house will be a help, as I am trying to catch up, and get back into my weekly routine. I spent most of yesterday being lazy…But, I did manage to get a couple of loads of laundry done, and also got the floors swept and vacuumed last night.  Today, between sneezes, I have been able to get the dishes done, the rest of the laundry done (and put away!), and the furniture dusted and “Febreezed†(to get out the lingering smoke smell). Now, I’m of to finish cleaning the bathrooms. I need to dust the toilets…again. Everytime the vent is turned on, it “snows†ashes! (Okay, so maybe some things aren’t quite back to normal yet! )
