This morning, after breakfast, I told Hannah to go sit in the living room and look at some books while I cleaned up the dishes.Â
Those of you moms out there are probably familiar with the â€it’s too quiet†feeling… So, I poked my head around the corner to see what she was up to, and this is what I found…
Hannah was perched on top of the coffee table, yellow highlighter in hand, “reading.â€Â
When I asked her what she was doing, she smiled at me and said, “books!â€Â
(In case you can’t tell, the books she chose are: Mere Christianity, by CS Lewis; Lies Women Believe, by Nancy Leigh DeMoss; and Twelve Extraordinary Women, by John MacArthur.)
To her credit, she was doing exactly what she was told…sitting in the living room looking at books. Maybe I should have been a little more specific…
