A Summer Daybook: August 3

I have seen this (or similar variations) on several sites, and thought it was a great way to document some of the day-to-day thoughts and goings-on that I might not otherwise write about.

So, here is my little status report for today…

The Simple Woman's Daybook

August 3, 2009

Outside my window…

A bright blue, cloudless sky, and another HOT summer day.

I am thinking…

About Psalm 19:1-6…

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork….”

I am thankful for…

8 years (tomorrow!) of marriage to my wonderful husband!! 🙂

From the learning rooms…

We are working on our attitude…having a joyful heart – even when we don’t get our own way.

From the kitchen…

Coffee…of course!!

I am wearing…

A black skirt, pink top, and black & pink flip flops.

I am creating…

A lesson on Psalm 19 for Bible Study this Wednesday.

I am going…

Nowhere!

I am reading…

Lots!  Just getting started on several books I picked up at the Women Discipling Women Conference, and over vacation.  There is a more complete list in the sidebar, but here are just a few:

Growing Up Christian, by Carl Graustein

For the Children’s Sake, by Susan Schaeffer Macaulay

Raising Your Children for Christ, by Andrew Murray

Womanly Dominion, by Mark Chanski

Big Truths for Young Hearts, by Bruce Ware

I am hoping…

That the book I ordered for the next session of our Women’s Bible Study comes soon!  (I only ordered it yesterday…)  I’m excited about it!

I am hearing…

“Seeds of Praise”
Bible Verses set to music…Loving it!!  Thanks, Anita!!

Around the house…

We bought paint over the weekend!!  “Coffee” – for the living room and kitchen (appropriate, no?), “Heath Green” – for the downstairs bathroom, and “Almond Oil” for the stairway and loft/playroom.  Now it is all just sitting there waiting to be used!  I can’t wait to get started!!

One of my favorite things…

Seeing my daughter excited about our family devotional times…watching as she puts the pieces together….hearing her recite Scripture.

Praying that she would truly understand the Truth of God’s Word, the consequences of her sin, and the mercy and grace of Christ’s death and resurrection.

A few plans for the rest of the week…

Celebrating our 8th Anniversary tomorrow, Women’s Bible Study, and hopefully getting together with a friend later this week.

Here is picture thought I am sharing…

Sweet friends from California…We miss you!!
