Today was our “big” ultrasound!
And, of course, the first order of business was to be sure (as much as is possible) that baby is healthy and developing properly. We saw the perfectly formed spine…2 little hands, and 2 little feet (which our ultrasound technician was kind enough to count for us!)…the brain (which was said to look “good…very good!”)…the “pretty” heart, with its 4 chambers, and no holes.
This little one didn’t seem exactly thrilled to be woken up for this…but, even if somewhat reluctantly, we also got to see a sweet little face…a precious little profile…and even got a hint of a smile!!
Praise the Lord (and I do not say that lightly!) this little one appears to be healthy, and developing perfectly!!
And, we also got to find out if baby is a boy or girl. (I can start using specific pronouns!!)
I asked my friends on Facebook to weigh in on whether they thought it would be “pink” or “blue.”
8 people thought we were having another little girl. And, 12 people thought we were having another little boy.
If you have asked me at any time thus far, I probably said I wasn’t sure. And, I really wasn’t.  I knew Titus was going to be a boy. I kind of thought Hannah was going to be a girl, but for some reason I just assumed that first-borns are supposed to be boys (I am a first-born, so why I thought this, I don’t know.) So, with Hannah, I was expecting to hear the doctor say boy…and I was surprised, but not shocked when he said she was a girl. But with this one… Some days I leaned more towards another girl. Some days I was sure it was another boy. And, I would have been absolutely thrilled either way.
(Am I dragging this out enough for you? I am rather liking this feeling of dancing around chanting “I know a secret!”)
Okay…enough suspense.
It’s a GIRL!!!!
Yes, God has blessed us with another little girl!! We are so excited! Hannah is beyond thrilled. She is excited about sharing her room, and has already started collecting toys and blankets for her little sister.  Titus…well, he has no idea what is coming! But, I’m sure he will love her, and protect her like a good big brother!
We are so thankful to the Lord for this little one! We can’t wait to meet her!
*********
The doctor did note that I have a slight placenta previa. She said this is fairly common at this stage, and she is almost certain that it will move over the next few months. I would definitely appreciate your prayers that, if it be the Lord’s will, it would do just that!
So happy for you and the healthy baby girl! Praying for you!
Congratulations! Rejoicing with you as you prepare to welcome another little bundle of pink!
Thank you, Dell!! 🙂
