Online communities can offer a welcome sense of camaraderie and fellowship.
But, they can also create a perceived sense of anonymity, and an “escape†from reality. Behind the virtual wall of the computer screen we “learn to be idlers, going about from house to house, and not only idlers, but also gossips and busybodies, saying what they should not.â€Â (1 Timothy 5:13)
In this technological age of blogs and social networks, our fingers have become a virtual extension of our tongues.
“…but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.” ~James 3:8
