Life, Year In Reveiw

2011 ~ Year In Review

“The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.” ~Psalm 16:6

Dear Family and Friends,

I can hardly believe that another year is coming to a close!  But, with the end of 2011 upon us, we find ourselves once again reflecting on all that the Lord has done in our lives, as a family, over the past year…

We left Buckeye, Arizona on December 29th…exactly 2 years, to the day, from when we first arrived. We covered 3 states (Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas) in 3 days! In 2 vehicles – one of them being a U-haul – with 2 cats, a dog, and a 5-year-old. And, despite what you might think, it was not a bad trip!

Hannah was a star traveler, and did so well during the long days of driving.  She never once asked, “Are we there yet?” She did ask “Are we in Texas yet?” a few times that first day. And, she got very excited (we all did!) when we finally said yes…about an hour into our second day of driving! But, that excitement was short-lived as she quickly began to realize that Texas is a very. big. state.
.
We made it safely to our new home on December 31st. When we got here there were several men from our new church waiting to help us unload!! We were so thankful for their help in getting everything unloaded and into the house (and even assembling some furniture!) in less than 2 hours! With as much as we have moved over the years, you might think that we should be pros at this by now. We’re not. The first few weeks of this year were somewhat lost in the chaos of unpacking boxes, rearranging furniture, locating belongings, trying to find our way around town, and of course, jumping into life at our new church!
.

We love our new church home…and we are so thankful to be a part of this amazing body of believers! It is hard to believe that these people whom we now consider dear friends and church family were strangers to us just a year ago! Jason is keeping busy with teaching, counseling, administrative tasks…and just generally enjoying his job!

Hannah is growing up so quickly! She turned 6 this past April, and continues to be such a sweet, joyful, and energetic little girl! She has once again adjusted well to our big move, and made friends here quickly. We are continuing to enjoy homeschooling.  She is in first grade this year – and loving it! Math is still her favorite subject, but history and reading are quickly catching up! I think the highlight of her year was discovering that she was (finally!) going to be a big sister!

May brought the completely unexpected, but equally wonderful news that the Lord had chosen to bless us with another child. A baby boy is due to join our family on, or around, February 6th, 2012!!  We are all excitedly anticipating and preparing for his arrival!.

In August, Jason and I celebrated 10 years of marriage!

And, as we look back on not just another year, but a decade of sharing life, parenting, and ministry together, we are overwhelmed by God’s sovereign care, and humbled by His amazing gifts and undeserved blessings!

May you all have a blessed Christmas, as we reflect on God’s greatest gift to us – our Savior, Jesus Christ.

By His Grace,
Jason, Veronica, Hannah, & Baby
