Just for Fun

Blizzard BlogHop

Blizzard Bloghop 2010 hosted by Household 6 Diva

.

Many of my Twitter friends are attending a blogging conference this week known as BlissDom.  So, Ann Marie of Household 6 Diva is hosting a blog hop for those who did not attend.  Last year at this time, I had no clue what BlissDom was (let alone that there were actually conferences for bloggers!).  But what’s worse…I’d never ever heard of (much less participated in) a Blog Hop!  Thankfully, over this past year, I’ve expanded my blogging horizons a bit, and while I’ve still not attended a blogging conference (I have at least heard of them!), I have participated in several blog hops!  And, it has been so much fun to get to know other bloggy-friends, and discover some great new reads!  (Although, I’m not so sure that is a good thing, since my Google Reader chronically hovers around the 500 unread post mark!  So, if it takes me a while to comment…you’ll know why!)

.

So, let’s get to know one another!  Pull up a comfy chair, and your favorite mug…I’ve got the coffee pot set on perpetual-brew, so there’s plenty to go around!  And I’m usually willing to share.

.

My name is Veronica.  I am a pastor’s wife, a homeschooling mommy of one, and a homemaker.

.

I am a native California girl, but was (very recently) relocated to the Lone Star State of Texas!

.

I was born into a Christian family.   Although my parents did not grow up in Christian homes, God saved them before I was born, and, they were committed to raising me, and my sister, according to biblical principles.  Through their faithful teaching and example, God graciously drew me to Himself at a young age.  Yes, I had a child’s understanding of the gospel, but, I repented of my sins, and professed Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I am just beginning to understand what an incredible blessing it has been to have had almost my entire life to know, love, and serve my Savior!

.

I attended The Master’s College, where I earned my degree in Biblical Studies, with an emphasis in Christian Education.  The Lord used my time at college, and this course of study, to increase my passion know His Word, to strengthen my desire to share His Truth with others.

.

Although we have different versions of exactly when it happened, I met my husband, Jason, in college.  He currently serves as a pastor at our church.  This summer, we will celebrate 10 years of marriage.  He is, without question, my best friend, and I am so thankful for a husband who loves the Lord, is a dilligent student of God’s Word, and works hard to lead and support his family.

.

Together we have one little girl, Hannah Elisabeth.  She is truly a gift from God, and brings so much joy and energy to our days!

.

I am humbled each day at the amazing opportunity and responsibility that the Lord has given me –  to take care of my wonderful husband, to each, train, care for, play with, comfort, pray for, and love our precious little girl, and to be a keeper and manager of my home.  My days are full – sometimes to overflowing!

About My Blog…
The title of my site is taken from a quote by my favorite author, Elisabeth Elliot:

“A quiet heart is content with what God gives.  It is enough.  All is grace.”

.

Amidst the chaos of all that clamors for our attention, I am striving to have a quiet heart.  One that is passionately obedient to God’s Word, and content in the roles, responsibilities, blessings, and trials that my Heavenly Father, in His infinite wisdom, has seen fit to give me…

.

So, what do I write about?  In general, you could say I write about life.  But, more specifically:

.

I am also very excited to have also recently become a contributor for the site, RaisingHomemakers.com.  (If you are a homemaker, looking for biblical inspiration, or a mother seeking to train her daughters to follow the biblical pattern of being a keeper, and a worker at home, then I would encourage you to check out this site!)

.

It is my prayer that you will be challenged to think biblically, encouraged to obey passionately, and as a result, live contentedly in the life that God has specifically called you to.

.

  1. So glad I stopped by from the Blizzard!! You have a new follower. It is always so encouraging to find other women to help inspire my walk with Christ! Can’t wait to come back and read more! Love & Hugs Shauna @ Planting Shade http://www.plantingshade.com/

  2. Striving for a quiet heart in a noisy world really speaks to me and the woman that I think that God wants me to be. I’m so glad to have found your blog and look forward to following you. Have fun at the bloghop!

  3. Wow, I love your blog. I’m thankful that I came to a saving knowledge of Christ before my kids were born. Unfortunately, I’ve never quite lived up to the mom I want to be part of me. Sigh…4 kids later they are all following the Lord. My oldest is a sophomore at a Christian college getting a teaching degree!

A year ago I’d never heard of blogging conferences, but got to go to a micro one here in MN. I’d also never done blog hops a year ago either. Were they even around yet?

  5. My quote is “Be still and know I am God.” Ps 46:10. I tend toward the cluttered and am trying to find a way to be still in God’s presence. It was nice to meet you through the blog roll.

  6. What a beautiful blog and story. I am so blessed to have come across some amazing God loving women this weekend. I cannot wait to stay intouch and stop by for encouragement.
