A Daybook: August 24th, 2009

The Simple Woman's Daybook

Outside my window…

Blue skies, fluffy white clouds on the horizon, a little bit of a breeze…and a relatively cool 103º summer afternoon.

I am thinking…

That is seems too early (and too hot!) to be thinking about Christmas…only 123 days left!!

From the learning rooms…

Art…Hannah had a “date” with Daddy this morning.  They picked out a fun craft to do together…

I am thankful for…

A husband who genuinely loves spending time with his little girl!!

From the kitchen….

Brownies…for a meeting tonight.  Although, they will arrive minus a few pieces.  It would be unkind to subject my family to the smell of freshly baked brownies, and then not allow them to enjoy any!

I am hearing…

Hannah playing Word World!

I am wearing …

Black yoga pants, and a pink and grey striped top…

But I am about to change into something more presentable for our meeting tonight!

I am reading…

So much!  Currently, I am having a very difficult time putting down Growing Up Christian, by Karl Graustein!  I am also greatly enjoying Womanly Dominion, by Mark Chanski; For the Children’s Sake, by Susan Schaeffer Macauly; and When You Rise Up, by RC Sproul, Jr.  I just started War of Words, by Paul Tripp, in preparation for the upcoming fall session of our Women’s Bible Study.  And, my husband (highly!) recommended The Joy of a Word Filled Family, by John Barnett, so I picked that up as well…although I am only a few pages in, it already looks quite promising!!

I am hoping…

For a profitable meeting tonight, for good ideas to be shared, and that everything would come together quickly and (relatively) easily!!

I am creating…

Some organization (hopefully) out of the chaos that once was my desk.

I am praying…

For the women who will be attending our Christmas Event…That the Lord would work in their hearts, even now, and prepare them to be encouraged, convicted, and open to the wonderful truth of the story of His birth!!

Around the house…

Cleaning, organizing, and hopefully a little more painting!

One of my favorite things…

Chocolate-Covered Espresso Beans!  Yummy and caffeinated. 🙂

A few plans for the rest of the week…

Ladies’ Christmas Dessert planning meeting tonight, Cubbies on Wednesday, and sending Jason off to a Pastors’ retreat later this week.

A picture to share…
