Hannah had her 2 (and 1/2) year check-up yesterday. (Somehow, I completely missed setting up the appointment in April!) If there was any doubt left in my mind as to whether I have a baby or a little girl, it was erased at the doctor’s office!Â
When they checked her height and weight, they did not use the “baby scale.â€Â They had her use the standing scale instead! And, for the interested grandparents, she is up to 26 pounds!  That puts her in the 20th percentile for weight - up from the 10th percentile at 18-months! Then they had her stand against a height chart…37 inches! She is a tall one - still well within the 90th percentile range!
Up to this point, Hannah has cried at the very sight of the doctor. He is the sweetest man, and so good with her, but for whatever reason she just did not like him! (I don’t particularly like being poked and prodded by doctors either, so I definitely could understand!) But, this time, he walked into the room and she just lit up. She smiled at him, and chatted with him, asking if he was going to check her eyes, ears, nose…. He seemed plesantly surprised, and she was extremely cooperative! She even managed to completely charm the nurse who administered her one shot! As the nurse got her ready, she calmly said, “Mommy, please hold my hand.â€Â So, I did, and that was that. She scrunched up her face as the needle went in, whimpered once, and once the band-aid was in place, she stood up and announced to the nurse, “It’s okay.  I’m all better now.â€Â
Where did my sweet baby go?! She has been replaced by a wonderful little kid! I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun!
